XBee modules

W00t. My XBee modules arrived from Sparkfun today and man are they smaller than I was expecting.
For some reason I thought they would be about 5×6cm or so like my arduino but the units are only 3×2.5cm.
I also bought a USB adapter board for one of them to minimise the buggering around before I could set them up. I’m gonna plug it in now so I’ll let you know how it goes!

I was using these (some kind of “Pro” version) with the Surveyor bot and they were pretty good as far as 100 Kb comms go.
But then I read the datasheet, and they are much more versatile than I realised. 8 A/D channels, 8 digital pins, 600 mw (”Pro” version) or 200 mw (the “Pro+”) and b/w upto 250 Kb.
Yes, they’re pretty small — not much bigger than their DIP plug/socket.
