Robo News #9

Hi guys, great to see all of the activity on the site over the last couple of weeks. It looks like some cool projects are in the pipeline!

This is just a quick heads up to let everyone know what is going down/up/around the place:

Ausrobotics v2

Still going... You can view it here for testing purposes. I am planning on using phpbb3 for the forums which should be a lot nicer than drupal's built in stuff. It doesn't work nicely in IE5.5 or 6.0 at the moment........... If those browsers would just die that would be great.

Blog posts in moderation

I noticed a couple of posts in moderation and have pushed them to the front page. If your posts don't go straight to the front (they should be default now) then please leave a comment somewhere and I'll sort it out asap.

Robots Podcast

Those of you who subscribed to or followed the, now defunct, Talking Robotics podcast series will be glad to know that it's successor, the Robots Podcast is now up and running. Check it out here. Also if you missed the old podcast there are heaps of great interviews waiting for you here.

Tortoise RC Bot

What's cute, made out of a couple of servos and some polymorph plastic and fights cats? No, not my mum... How many times must we go through this? It's the ultra talented Crabfu's Tortoise RC bot of course! Check it out here for some inspiration on minimalistic robotic construction (ok, technically it's RC but that's just a controller away).

Quad4 Robot Getting Assembled (From RobotsAustralia)

Murray (RobotsAustralia) has received some of the panels for his bot and has started assembly. Its looking really good so far and just shows what you can do when you get stuff custom cut. Check out the project here.

Until next time... :)

Forums - phpbb (2 or 3)

Forums - phpbb (2 or 3) would be nice. I do find the drupal forum a little "unobvious"

Good work on the site.
